2008 Solano County Syrah

From Steve Wirth's ranch in Green valley. Aged 14 months in a combination of neutral and one year old French Oak. Blueberry and Pepper notes overlaid with exotic spice notes. A great match for spicy or bold flavored foods.

2008 Amador County Mourvedre

A smooth Amador County Mourvedre with notes of violets and leather. This wine has a racy acidity, allowing it to be a superb food wine; it will also age very well. 15% Syrah, aged 14 montbhs in neutral French Oak. One of the first vineyards in California planted to Tablas clones.

2008 California G-S-M

One barrel each of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. Due to the frost in Spring 2008 there wasn't much Grenache to go around.  We were lucky enough to get our hands on a small batch from Amador County. A delicious blend that highlights the fresh red fruits of the Grenache, complemented by the richness of the Syrah and some zippy Mourvedre funk.

2009 Paso Robles Viognier

60% Malolactic Fermentation, barrel fermented in neutral oak and aged on the lees for 10 months. A rich white suitable for both casual drinking and serious dinners. You could pair this with a well sauced pork dish (amaze your friends!), poultry and a wide variety of fish. We also discovered (somewhat by accident) that it's great with Middle-Eastern cuisine

2009 The New Black

Double Gold 2011 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition

We combined Steve Wirth's Syrah with his Cabernet, grown adjacent to the Syrah (essentially the same vineyard). Throw in some Paso Grenache (the blend is 49% Cab, 43% Syrah and 8% Grenache) and you've got pure pleasure and pure value, the grenache offering a floral counterpoint floating over the rich Cab-Syrah blend..

2009 Paso Robles Grenache

Due to the rains in Fall 2009 we left this grenache on the vine as long as possible - it was picked in late October. We ended up with an elegant and complex grenache and the lengthy growing season allowed whole cluster fermentation of 25% of the lots. The final blend has 10% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre. A terrific wine with earthy structure underpinning the characteristic red fruit and pepper-strawberry aromas of Paso Grenache.

2009 Paso Robles Cabernet Franc

I love the Loire Cabernet Francs, they are beautiful food wines. And as it turns out my favorite Bordeauxs are Right Bank reds where Cab Franc is prominent in the blend. And then there's the Ritual Cabernet Franc, unrelated to either style, except by varietal. Our Franc will satisfy most any red wine situation, rich enough for a steak, but light on its feet and complex anough to take on a wide variety of food. 100% Cabernet Franc. .
